Brighstoneus
New
14.8cm x 4.8cm
Diet: Herbivorous
Period: Lower Cretaceous
Meaning:
Named after the village of Brighstone on the Isle of Wight
Fossils discovered in 1978 thought to represent an Iguanodon were re-examined and the Brighstoneus genus erected in 2021. This dinosaur had a prominent, bulbous snout. The patterning on the model would have helped to break up this herbivore's outline and camouflage it as Brighstoneus moved through the dimly lit understorey of the forest.
