Shastasaurus
New
25cm x 3cm
Diet: Carnivorous
Period: Upper Triassic
Meaning:
Mount Shasta lizard
A model of a primitive, Triassic ichthyosaur, potentially the largest marine reptile known from the fossil record. The Shastasaurus model has been given a striking black and white colour scheme reminiscent to that of the Killer Whale (Orca). These markings would have helped this giant hunter hide from its prey, the colour pattern making Shastasaurus less visible from both above and below.
